Historically, the land boasted the first 9-hole golf course in the area, with family picnic areas along Anderson Creek. Adjacent to Spring Lake Mountain Estates is the City-owned Spring Lake Quarry, where rock was mined for Keystone Dam. The quarry was abandoned when an underground spring blew-out the side of the limestone bluff, hence the name "spring lake".
Today, Spring Lake Mountain Estates is a quiet and safe neighborhood with ponds, beautiful tree covered lots, native rock, and quiet streets. The new "mountain lots" provide wonderful views of downtown Tulsa. Front lots have beautiful pond views. All around Spring Lake, nature abounds; providing natural walking trails, fishing, wildlife, and outdoor delights.
